Position: Funeral Arranger

Job Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and manage funeral arrangements from initial consultation through to the funeral service, ensuring a seamless and compassionate experience for clients and their families during their time of need. The Funeral Arranger is responsible for translating client requirements into a well-executed funeral plan, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining operational excellence, and contributing to the achievement of business objectives through professional, efficient, and empathetic service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- 2-5 Years’ Funeral Planning Experience (advantageous)
- 2 Years of Customer Service Experience (essential).
Experience Required:
At least (3) three years’ experience dealing with the following:
- Conduct thorough consultations with bereaved families to understand their needs, preferences, and funeral requirements
- Prepare and maintain accurate funeral files, ensuring all client and burial information is complete and up to date
- Ensure Burial Instruction (BI) documentation is correctly completed and submitted within the required timeframes
- Facilitate death registrations and obtain death certificates efficiently and timeously
- Conduct clients needs analysis and provide appropriate guidance and recommendations to meet expectations and deliver personalised solutions
- Coordinate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth planning and execution of funeral services
- Process funeral and insurance-related claims accurately and within agreed service standards
- Perform administrative duties, including preparing quotations, processing payments, ordering materials, and managing supplier relationships
- Design, promote, and coordinate customized funeral packages aligned to customer requirements and budgets
- Arrange and manage all relevant communication, service bookings, and payments with third-party service providers
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients by delivering compassionate, professional, and dedicated service throughout the funeral arrangement process
- Monitor and coordinate funeral logistics to ensure all arrangements are executed accurately and according to plan
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements
